Charlie, known in Japanese as Fukutsuru (フクツル), is a character from Medabots Spirit that appeared in the episode The Truth About Charlie.
In the anime[]
Charlie looked like a suspicious character when he first appeared, using a Kilobot called Tricerapotts. He then appeared even more suspicious when he lost his Robattle with barely any resistance, making Ikki think that there is a trap waiting for him.
Charlie is then later revealed to be the gentle director of a Medabot museum and a Medabot researcher, and only used a Kilobot because he was doing a research. In the English dub, Charlie also offered Nae a summer internship stint with him, while in the Japanese version he has a date with Nae. He is also revealed to be a skilled Medafighter, challenging Ikki to another Robattle with his Medabot, King Tank, a veteran with many victories. Despite matching Ikki and Metabee in the Robattle, Charlie again conceded the match cheaply when King Tank ran out of battery, as Charlie forgot to recharge his Medabot.
