Fighting Temptation is the second episode of Medabots Spirit.
Content[]
Summary[]
Nae asked Ikki to keep Metabee's new parts, and she advices Ikki and Metabee to not Robattle against Ginkai's Kilobot until the parts are repaired. However, Ginkai appears with Kam in front of Ikki and Metabee, and challenges them to a fight.
Plot[]
Nae runs some tests on Metabee's new parts, but Metabee is having trouble with Medachange due to the extra g-force causing vibrations that his Tinpet cannot handle, making him lose control. Nae asks to keep the new parts to adjust them. Nae also informs them how dangerous the Kilobots are, as they were not made by the Medabot Corporation, and also says that she used to work for the Medabot Corporation, but decided to become a junk dealer to help children and their Medabots. Nae makes Ikki and Metabee promise not to Robattle with Ginkai's Kilobot until Metabee's faulty new parts are repaired, saying that she will only need one or two days for that.
Spyke overheard their conversation and told it to Samantha, who in turn reveals it to Kam in exchange for a high voltage Kilobot battery. Ginkai asks if that battery wasn't too powerful for a Medabot, and Kam smiles. Indeed, the battery is too much for Peppercat, and she breaks.
Ginkai and Kam appear and reveal to Ikki and Metabee what Samantha said, challenging them with Tankbank, but the duo refuses. To lure them, Kam went as far as to destroy Medals from other Medabots, and they discover that it takes as much courage and skill to avoid a fight as it does to seek one out. However, they break their promise to protect Honey, and using strategy, they manage to make their fight end in a draw. After Metabee's parts are repaired, they accept Kam's challenge, and the new parts allow Metabee to defeat Tankbank without difficulty.
In the end, Samantha appears with the broken Peppercat and begs Nae to repair her, and while Ikki revealed what Samantha did and told her to get lost, Nae agreed to repair her, as it was clear that Samantha loved her Medabot. Ikki and Metabee develop a crush on the kind Miss Nae.
Trivia[]

- The animation of Metabee that appears in the resumes in the end of the dubbed episodes comes from this episode.
- During the training in the beginning, Metabee spins before crashing, but in the recording of his training from his view, he goes in a straight line before crashing.
Background[]

- The flashback from the previous episode is shorter, and the changes done in the previous episode also apply in this episode, with Desperado's head being editted and having some scenes replaced.
- After the flashback, the camera movement from the image with Ginkai and Desperado was reversed.
- The scene before Nae takes Metabee's new parts was cut.
- The part where Nae says that if Ikki and Metabee keep their promise she will reward them, and Ikki and Metabee thinking that it may be a hug or a kiss, was cut.
- A commercial break was added after Spyke left.
- When Samantha asks Sloan if the building in the distance is Kam's home, in the dub Sloan says that he thinks that may be the butler's quarters, with the main house being higher up, while in the original Sloan only confirmed that it is Kam's home. The following scene was shortened a bit, cutting Samantha's comment on how rich Kam is.
- A short scene with Samantha after Spyke appears was cut. Samantha says that they were lucky and her eye shines.
- The part with the Screws leaving with the battery was shortened, cutting the part Samantha tells Spyke and Sloan to hurry up to attach the battery to Peppercat.
- Ginkai looking at Kam after he smiled and thinking that what he did was terrible was cut.
- The first time Tankbank is shown attacking, Ikki says that was Napalm in the original and a Salvo Attack in the dub. Of note, Tankbank is shown firing three shots from his left arm, which is actually a Gatling attack, with Napalm being the missile fired from his head. However, in some scenes Tankbank is shown having the same projectile in all parts.
- Tankbank gained several lines in the dub, the most common being "surrender or be destroyed" and "destroy". Tankbank is silent in the original version.
- A short scene with Kintaro was cut.
- The part the three kids comment on Tankbank being way too powerful and asking to stop was reduced, cutting their lines.
- Kam smiling after destroying Kintaro's Medal was cut.
- A commercial break was added after Erika saw what Kam and Ginkai did.
- Goriongo's leg parts, Gori-Roader, is called "cycle" in the dub.
- The chase scene was editted, with some scenes having their position rearranged, and most scenes showing Tankbank attacking were cut.
- Kam's Medawatch screen was redraw, being slightly different, such as Tankbank's picture having a bright chest and lacking the gun barrels on the arms. The text "Death Medarot" (Kilobot) in the top was replaced by Tankbank's name, and the text "damage" in the bottom was removed.
- Tankbank using his head part and Honey taking the hit to protect Metabee was cut, but the damage on her arm is still visible.
- The scenes with Tankbank attacking Honey afterwards were shortened a bit, and two scenes were cut, one showing a blast throwing Honey in the direction of some boxes.
- A commercial break was added after Ikki and Metabee return to protect Honey, with a short scene with Metabee running being cut.
- Some scenes with the battle against Tankbank were shortened a bit.
- After both Metabee and Tankbank fired two missiles from their heads, Tankbank firing a missile from his head again after destroying Metabee's two missiles was cut, making it seem like Tankbank destroyed the two missiles with a single missile, and hit Metabee with the other.
- Ikki's Medawatch screen was redraw. Unlike Kam's Medawatch, it was given a new design, appearing to mix the Medabots Spirit design with the design from the original anime. The name from Metabee's parts, Missile, Revolver, Sub-Machinegun and Ochitsuker, were respectively replaced by Main Launcher, Left Arm, Right Arm, and Body Armor. The text "damage" on the bottom was replaced by "99% damage". As Metabee's left arm took 99,99% damage, the original version shows his arm going offline. His arm remains active in the dub.
- Of note, the original version has an error, showing all gauges empty, except for the left arm, which goes down after taking the hit.
- When Kam takes Metabee's pellet, it was censored, being painted blue, making it resemble a pill.
- In the silent part before the match between Ikki and Kam, the dub added Nae saying that they will fight according to the rules of the World Medabot Association, and that switching parts during the match is not allowed, asking Kam if that was clear to him, and that she will be the referee.
