Kam Kamazaki, known in Japanese as Kokuryuu Kamizake (コクリュウ Kokuryuu), is the main antagonist from Medabots Spirit.

Description[]

Kam is a boy with a sharp mind and ruthless personality who will do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, being very cruel, serious, sometimes sarcastic, and a cheater. He doesn’t have any friends, only followers. He paid the Rogue Medafighters to become his "friends" by offering them free Kilobots. Kam prefers his Kilobots over Medabots, being cruel with Medabots, but he can also be extremely cruel with his Kilobots, not showing pity to any of them, seeing them as simply machines, and is known to trash his Kilobots when a new and more powerful one is created.

Kam used several Kilobots during the series, with Blakbeetle becoming his main Kilobot.

History[]

Young Kam

Young Kam

Kam is the son of Shin Kamazaki, the president of Bacchus, a major investor of Extreme Tech, the company that created Kilobots, and his late mother, Mrs. Kamazaki. His father was so busy in the US that Kam had not seen him since he was very young, so Kam and his mother were close. However, she wasn’t very well and passed away when Kam was 4 years old, changing him into a cold-hearted boy.

As Kam grew, he became the supervisor of Extreme Tech's research and development division and the programmer of the basic operating systems for all Kilobot prototypes, becoming obsessed in creating the most powerful and ruthless Kilobot. He invited Ginkai and other kids to help him test most of the prototypes. During the test phase, Kam's main opponents were Ikki, due to him being a skilled Medafighter that got second place in the World Robattle Cup, and the Mystery Medafighter, being seen using the following Kilobots against them:

Kam was saved

Kam was saved by the Medabots

In Once a Medafighter (1), Kam appeared with Redrun as his Kilobot to attack Metabee during an official tournament from the Medabot Corporation, where Ikki and Ginkai were having a Robattle. When Ginkai asked Kam, as a friend, to not interfere with the match, Kam said: "I am your friend, and that's why I expect you, as my friend, to obey my orders". This made Ginkai realize that Kam did not knew what friendship is, and that was only using him, and Ginkai rebelled against Kam when he ordered Redrun to destroy Metabee's Medal. Ginkai's Unitrix was crushed by Redrun, but then the Mystery Medafighter appeared and used Roks, causing Redrun to cease function. Kam was forced to withdraw, but not without telling Ginkai that he would regret betraying him.

After the Kilobots were officially released to the public in Fall from Grace, Kam replaced Redrun by Blakbeetle as his Kilobot, and he gave Redrun to Banjo.

Not satisfied, Kam continued working to make a stronger Kilobot, planning to place Blakbeetle's Neo Ex Medal on Gryphon once it is completed, despite knowing that Blakbeetle could lose her personality if placed on Gryphon.

In the final episode, Kam activates Gryphon and orders the Kilobot to destroy Metabee and the Medabots with him. The fierce battle caused an incident that put Kam's life in danger, but he was saved by the Medabots he was trying to destroy, including Blakbeetle, who managed to gain control over Gryphon's body to help him. This completely changes Kam. In the hospital, he reunites with Blakbeetle, now back to her body, and Eddie said that Kam's father, who Kam had not seen for years, will appear to spend some time with him. Kam also befriends Ikki and the other kids.

Etymology[]

Kokuryuu (黒龍) means "black dragon" in Japanese, and is the name of a sake brewery. Kamizake may be derived from kuchikamizake.
