Metabee (メタビー) is a prominent character that has appeared in many Medabots media.

Description[]

Metabee is the name given to two Medabots with a Kabuto Medal that have been partners to two Medafighters: Hikaru Agata and Ikki Tenryou. Both were named after the Metal Beetle (メタルビートル) parts they originally used. Both also have a fiery personality and are very passionate.

Hikaru's Metabee[]

In the games[]

A Metabee is Hikaru Agata's first Medabot in the Kabuto version of the first game, and is also one of his Medabots in other games.

In the anime[]

Anime Ten Days of Darkness

Hikaru with his out of control Metabee

Prior to the series, a Metabee was Hikaru's Medabot all the way along. Both shared a close bond and became strong together. However, during the event of the Ten Days of Darkness, which happened during the World Robattle Cup, Hikaru had to shut down his friend and break his Medal to save the world. The Medal is later restored, but Metabee lost his memory. Years later, Metabee's Kabuto Medal is now on the Arcbeetle from the Space Medafighter X, one of Hikaru's guise. As Arcbeetle, he is a heroic but silent Medabot, and deals massive amount of damage with its special attack from the Prominence head part. It is a strong Medabot, able to stop Ikki's Metabee's attack without a lot of effort.

Metabee's Kabuto Medal is a Rare Medal, and thus, he is able to use the Medaforce.

In the manga[]

Bonaparte goes to fetch a stick for Hikaru. When he comes back, he brings a Kabuto Medal, and soon enough, Hikaru's father gives him a brand new KBT-type Medarot. Hikaru does not give him a name until way later, when he notices he doesn't know his Medarot's name. Even though Hikaru did not like Metabee's name at first, his Medarot insisted on that his name was Metal Beetle and to call him Metabee by short. This caused Hikaru to name him like this, and this was his name from then onwards. Metabee is a loyal companion, yet a passionate Medarot.

Both became the World Robottle champions. In the end of the tournament, Metabee risked his life to protect Hikaru from Beast Master, which resulted in his Medal breaking. His Medal was later restored and he helped defeat the Roborobo Gang.

Ikki's Metabee[]

In the games[]

A Metabee with a rare Kabuto Medal is Ikki's first Medabot and partner in the Kabuto/Metabee version of the games, while a Rokusho replaces him in the Kuwagata/Rokusho version. Metabee is also Ikki's partner in Medabots Infinity and Medarot S: Unlimited Nova.

As Metabee is Ikki's partner, his Kabuto Medal must always be placed in a body in Medarot 3, with him complaining if the player tries to leave the customization menu without setting his Medal.

Anime Ikki and Metabee 24

Ikki and Metabee

Ikki longed for a long time to be a Medafighter. This was not possible since he couldn't afford a Medabot. Luckily for him, he saw a Kabuto Medal in Riverview City's river. What he didn't know is that said Medal was a rare one. But when he sees his friend Erika being harshly attacked by The Rockers, he runs to the store clerk, Henry, and buys the only Medabot he could afford, a pack with old KBT type parts. In the original Japanese, the clerk suggests Ikki to name him Metabee. In the American dub, though, Ikki is the one who names his Medabot like this, but this was later contradicted, matching the Japanese origin. Ikki used the Medal he found to activate him when he goes to Robattle the Rockers, and Metabee showed to be fast and powerful, being capable of beating a Phoenix and two Blackram, one with a Bombarder arm, all by himself. Metabee started being a disobedient Medabot, but later Metabee grew up having a bond with his Medafighter. The relationship between both became like that of two siblings, fighting for common things. However, when it comes to Robattle, both show to be strong and righteous.

As Metabee is a beetle-type Medabot, like others of his attribute, he has a passion for watermelons, as revealed by Henry after he attempts to bait Metabee with the said fruit in Return of the Screws. Personality-wise, Metabee is headstrong and originally was extremely arrogant and overconfident, but he learned to be nice to other people and is loyal to his friends, even when he would rather leave them to their own punishments. His stubbornness and refusal to give in are key aspects of his character. He also dislikes to stay without a body, not wanting anyone to touch neither take his Medal away from his body.

Ikki and Metabee went to a World Robattle Cup, much like Henry did back then. An event similar to the Ten Days of Darkness occurred when Ikki was in the finals against Victor and his Warbandit. However, Ikki was able to rescue Metabee from his dream before he had to shut down his Medabot like Henry did. Both stopped the event to occur, and when Dr. Meta-Evil saw his plan to make Medabots own the world did not work, he sent a giant Medabot to destroy the city, and later the world, directly and without having to control every Medabot, as his last resort. Dr. Aki foresaw this, so he built a Giant Metabee to fight the threat. However, it had to be driven by Metabee himself and many other Medabots to power up him. After a long and hard Robattle, Metabee decided to sacrifice himself to save the world, self-destructing the Giant Metabee with him inside. He was shortly after revived and brought back. After said event, Ikki could end the Robattle against Victor.

Medabots Spirit[]

Anime Saikachis

Metabee with new parts

A time after these events, a guy named Ginkai and his Kilobot, Desperado, caused riot in the city. This was part of a bigger plan from Kam Kamazaki to end with the Medabots and make the Kilobots from his company the predominant models. Ikki faced Desperado with Metabee, however, he lost, despite he used the Medaforce. Ikki got a new Medawatch model, the Medawatch Advance, from Miss Nae, as well as new parts for his Metabee. As Metabee now could Medachange, he used this capability to defeat Desperado. Metabee's Reckless Mode allows him to transform into a car-like form, gaining increased mobility this way, whilst his Crafty Mode allows him to shoot an energy ball to his enemy, dealing massive amount of damage.

Even though Metabee himself is strong, he alone wasn't enough to fight Gryphon. Even then, he needed the help from Roks, Tyrelbeetle and Arcbeetle-Dash (all of them KBT and KWG-types) to stop the Kilobot, and even that was not enough, with only a large explosion stopping the Kilobot.

In the manga[]

Ikki could afford a Medabot and he strongly wished for one. However, his parents would not give him permission to get one. A KBT Medabot was in the store, and Ikki would always keep an eye on it. Ikki almost bought it, but there were no Medals in stock, to which Hikaru says that his dog once found one, and that said event would not happen again. Ikki then mistakenly breaks the Medabot and runs from the store.

Ikki tries to find a Medal by making Salty go find it. However, he did not return with one until some tries later, where he coincidentally found a Kabuto Medal. However, Salty was seen by two thieves, who chased Ikki all the way to his house. They challenged Ikki to a Robattle with a DeathPhoenix and a Sabotenna, but as Ikki had no Medabot, both thieves tried to steal the Medal using the Medabots. Salty, who had the Medal, ran to avoid the attacks from the Medabots. Ikki took his and his parent's valuables and went to buy a Medabot to defend himself from the attacks. As the Medabot was broken, it was going to be given to the store manager's son, however Hikaru decided to sell the Medabot to Ikki. It was almost given to the little boy, however it was transported to where Ikki was and he Robattled against the thieves. The KBT Medabot did not obey Ikki, however he beated the thieves quickly. By the second chapter, the Medabot was named Metabee.

Mr. Uruchi confunded Ikki's Metabee with Hikaru's, and even Hikaru pointed out this Metabee was exactly the same as his.
