Five Kilobot models: Tankbank, Exor, Redrun, Unitrix and Desperado.
Kilobots, known in Japanese as Death Medarots (デスメダロット), are a type of Medabot exclusive to Medabots Spirit that appeared as antagonists. The Kilobots featured in the anime are identical to Medabot models from the video games.
Overview[]
Kilobots were built by Extreme Tech to be much more powerful than standard Medabots, their parts having a higher performance and being molded from durable flexisteel polymer, but also being more expensive.[1] They are also mostly immune to Medaforce-based attacks.
Their Tinpets appear to be similar to the ones from Medabots, and their parts are exchangeable, with Samantha being seen trying different Kilobot parts on her Peppercat, although she never managed to use them properly, possibly due to their higher performance.[2][3] Besides the exchangeable parts, Samantha tried using a Kilobot battery on Peppercat, which overheated and left her in a bad shape.[4] However, Kilobots appear to be able to use Medabot parts without issue.[5]
Unlike regular Medabots, Kilobots use Ex Medals in place of standard Medals, which lack personality and have an advanced combat program, making them simply machines who will carry out any orders, including cheating and excessive violence. As they lack personality, usually they are silent, only being seen talking when acknowledging a command or inform that they did not understand a command. The only exception is Blakbeetle, who has a Neo Ex Medal with a personality.
Those traits made the Kilobots popular for those who wanted a Medabot to blindly follow orders, as most (depending on their experience[6][7]) Medabots would refuse to follow inhumane orders, such as continue to attack an opponent that was already defeated and badly damaged until it is completely destroyed, and destroy the opponent's Medal.
A Medafighter using a Kilobot is refered to as a "Rogue Medafighter" (Death Medarotter in Japanese). This however is due more to said Medafighter being more ruthless and ignoring the rules of a Robattle, like changing parts and reloading ammo during a match, or fighting in groups to have a numeric advantage. Rogue Medafighters also have their own version of the Medawatch, the Kilowatch.
