Plot[]

In order to analyze the Medaforce, Kam uses Minitora and Kintora as bait to kidnap Roks. While the Mystery Medafighter was distracted attacking Minitora and Kintora, and discussing with Ikki and Metabee, Blakbeetle fired a missile and knocked Roks into the river. Kam then had his men search and retrieve Roks from the river, and taken to an underground lab. Kam then connects the emotional circuits of Roks and Blakbeetle, linking their Medal data in an attempt to take in the power of the Medaforce. While Blakbeetle gains control over Roks, she is unable to use the Medaforce.

After the first experiment, Minitora and Kintora called for Kam asking for help, as they were being chased by the Mystery Medafighter, who wanted to find out what happened with Roks, and Kam sees this as a good opportunity. Tyrelbeetle continued attacking Exor and Unitrix after their function ceased, and Ikki and Metabee appear and scold them for their actions. While they are arguing, Roks appears and attacks Tyrelbeetle, obeying Kam's commands. Roks fights to regain control, and the Mystery Medafighter tells him to use the Medaforce against Blakbeetle. However, Blakbeetle manages to force Roks to use the Medaforce to defeat Metabee and Tyrelbeetle, but both Roks and Blakbeetle shut down after the attack, with Blakbeetle being unable to use the Medaforce. Kam retreats, and wonders why Blakbeetle cannot use the Medaforce.

The Mystery Medafighter and Ikki go after Kam to rescue Roks. When they arrive in Kam's home, Eddie helps them enter without being noticed due to being worried with Kam. However, when they arrive in the underground lab, Roks and Blakbeetle are berserk and causing chaos. As their minds are combined, Roks learned about Blakbeetle's survival battle against 99 opponents and realized why she cannot use the Medaforce, revealing to Blakbeetle that she fears Kam. Blakbeetle denies, saying that the orders from her master are absolute, but as Kam considers her an object that he owns and can be discarded when no longer needed, her fear caused her to panic and she goes out of control, with Roks doing the same due to their link.

Kam orders Minitora and Kintora to send their Kilobots to stop Roks and Blakbeetle. Despite using Demolition Mode, they do not stand a chance against them, being easily beaten. Metabee and Tyrelbeetle try to stop them, and Kam orders Blakbeetle to attack Metabee. The Mystery Medafighter asks Kam to let them help, but Kam does not care, saying that if Blakbeetle breaks, he only needs to replace her. Ikki argues with Kam about his actions, and the Mystery Medafighter confronts Roks personally, apologizing for his recent actions, and Roks fights to regain control. Alongside Metabee, they use a double Medaforce against Blakbeetle, cutting the link and making Roks return to normal. Before their link is cut, Blakbeetle realizes how beautiful the Medaforce is.

Kam laments that Blakbeetle was unable to use the Medaforce, but he doubts that friendship is related to it, saying that Blakbeetle is just a machine that does everything he says. Blakbeetle agrees, obeying her master, but secretly she started having doubts about it. While leaving, Roks looks to Blakbeetle and wonders if she will be alright.

Medabots Spirit episode 32 chaos

Roks and Blakbeetle are out of control.

  • In the Japanese version, Kam calls Minitora (Hanabishi in Japanese) and Kintora as the "Hanakin Combo" (ハナキンコンビ Hanakin Konbi).
  • The scene with Roks and Tyrelbeetle standing up to continue attacking Unitrix and Exor was sped up.
  • A scene with Minitora and Kintora wondering what they should do was cut.
  • Minitora and Kintora retreating after Roks fell into the river was cut.
  • Dialogue when Roks is first shown in the underground lab changed:
    • In the dub, a researcher informs Kam that they are keeping Roks offline, but with his processor active, being in a state similar to dreaming. Kam then says it is time to start stage two from his plan. Kam informs that the Medaforce somehow feeds off the emotions of a Medabot, which is way Blakbeetle will have her minds linked up with Roks, Kam wants Blakbeetle to manipulate Roks into activating the Medaforce, then have both minds combined so she can discover what is on his mind and activate the Medaforce. A researcher warns Kam that this could cause a serious system error, and both could be lost, but Kam says that if he loses Blakbeetle, he will just get another.
    • In the original, a researcher informs Kam that, strangely, they were unable to find anything about the Medaforce in Roks's systems, such as a program to activate it. Kam doubts that there is something that cannot be expressed in numbers, and decides to link up the emotional circuits from Blakbeetle and Roks to investigate, as Blakbeetle's Neo Ex Medal was based on data from First Medals, the same type of Medal Roks has. When linked, the two Medals may resonate, and Blakbeetle may acquire the Medaforce. A researcher notes that in the worst case scenario, even if a system error occurs, they will obtain some data that could be useful.
  • An eyecatch was added before the minds from Roks and Blakbeetle are connected.
  • The ring from the Medanetboard changed, and dialogues from the scene with it changed a bit. For example, before it rang, in the dub one of the researchers suggested to try making Roks use the Medaforce in a Robattle. In the original, the researcher noted that Medaforce may be possible if Roks and Blakbeetle keep their emotions connected.
  • When the Mystery Medafighter attacks Minitora and Kintora near the tunnel:
    • In the dub, Minitora quickly confesses that Kam has Roks, and the Mystery Medafighter is certain that their attack in "this morning" was part of a plan to capture Roks.
    • In the original, Minitora says he does not know where Roks is, and the Mystery Medafighter believes that they are lying and know where Roks is.
    • Of note, the sun was fully visible in their first battle in the episode, and it was partially visible due to setting when Kam ordered to retrieve Roks from the river, showing that it was not morning. It is unknown how much time has passed since Roks's disappearance in the Japanese version.
    • The scene with Ikki talking after this was shortened a bit. In the original he asks why the Mystery Medafighter was attacking opponents that already ceased functioning.
  • The scene when Kam appears near the tunnel was shortened, starting from the point the camera stopped moving.
    • Two of the scenes after this had their position switched.
  • Roks's right arm, Forvice, was renamed Cutlass.
  • In the original, Kam is direct with Ikki and the Mystery Medafighter about his plan to uncover the mystery behind the Medaforce, including detailing that Roks and Blakbeetle are connected, and Kam sees his actions as a game. In the dub, Kam says that Roks was upset how his master was using him like an object, and since Kam fished him out of the river, Roks decided to join him and was no longer attached to the Mystery Medafighter, but it is obvious for them that Roks was not himself, and later Kam admits that he was lying when Roks started regaining control.
  • The brief pause after Roks and Tyrelbeetle attacked each other above the tunnel was cut, with Tyrelbeetle falling as soon as they attacked each other.
  • For unknown reasons, Roks's blade was editted out from his right arm after he goes down from the tunnel and points it to Metabee, despite being shown in use in previous scenes, and is shown retracting alongside his hammer when he prepared to use the Medaforce. Of note, Roks also pointed his blade to Metabee in the underground lab.
  • Ikki telling Metabee to use a double Medaforce was cut.
  • In the original, when Roks prepares to use the Medaforce, Kam asks Blakbeetle what she is doing, as Roks was returning to his senses, and Blakbeetle regains her control over Roks and tries to use the Medaforce. In the dub, the Mystery Medafighter telling Roks to use the Medaforce was part of Kam's plan, with Kam saying that it was Blakbeetle's chance to control Roks and use the Medaforce.
  • When Ikki and Metabee offer to help the Mystery Medafighter rescue Roks, in the original he says he does not need their help, while in the dub he accepts their help.
    • The last scene from this part was cut, with the Mystery Medafighter's response being added to the previous scene showing his reaction. The Mystery Medafighter and Tyrelbeetle passed by Ikki and Metabee while refusing them.
    • Rokusho's theme from the English dub was added to this part.
  • The scene with Kam talking with Blakbeetle while she is coming back online and did strange noises was cut.
  • The memory of Blakbeetle defeating the last of her 99 opponents was sped up.
  • An eyecatch was added after Roks and Blakbeetle went out of control.
  • In the dub, Eddie helps Ikki and the Mystery Medafighter enter the lab because sometimes Kam goes too far, and that's not healthy for him, and Ikki agrees. In the original, Eddie helps them because he hopes they can become Kam's friends, which confuses Ikki. The scene was also shortened, cutting Metabee commenting that any friend who is like Kam is no friend.
  • Roks and Blakbeetle causing chaos in the lab was cut. Kam asks what happened, and the researcher informs that there was an unexpected error in Blakbeetle's emotional circuits that caused them to go out of control, and warns Kam that it is dangerous to get close.
  • The names of the Demolition Mode attacks from Exor and Unitrix were omitted. Exor's is "Meda-Break", and Unitrix's is "Meda-Rose".
  • When Ikki talks with Kam in the lab:
    • In the dub, Ikki asks Kam what he was doing to Roks and Blakbeetle. Kam says that he wanted to discover why Roks can summon the Medaforce while Blakbeetle cannot, so he linked them together. Ikki explains that the Medaforce is based on the friendship between the Medabot and Medafighter, which is why it never works for Kam. Kam says that they are the masters, and the feeling from Medabots should not matter, asking who cares if they suffer.
    • In the original, Ikki asks why Roks and Blakbeetle were berserk. Kam says that there was a bug while he was trying to solve the Medaforce (there are no lines when the cable behind Roks is shown). Ikki tells Kam that Medabots have souls, they are not just machines, and the Medaforce is a miraculous power that appears when the Medabot and Medafighter have a strong bond. Kam says that his explanation is not scientific, calling it ridiculous and telling Ikki to stop talking nonsense.
  • The scene with Ikki about to cry was shortened, only showing the final part.
  • The text "Death Medarot" was removed from Kam's Kilowatch screen.
  • After the battle, in the original Kam notes that while Blakbeetle was unable to use the Medaforce, the amount of data collected should be enough to create a system against the Medaforce. In the dub, Kam says that they almost convinced him that friendship and respect causes the Medaforce, but the truth is that Blakbeetle is just a machine that does what he says.
  • After Kam says that machines do not have a heart, in the dub Blakbeetle thinks "there was a time that I would have agreed, but I'm not so sure anymore...", while in the original she thinks "if machines do not have a heart, then what was that I saw?"
  • The episode's ending is silent in the dub. In the original, Blakbeetle said Zuru's name.
