Metabee's Out of Body Experience is the 12th episode of Medabots Spirit.
Content[]
Summary[]
Dr. Aki called Ikki and the others to review Metabee's memory device and analyze the data from his battle with Redrun. Then, the doctor shows off a new Medabot, Arcbeetle Dash, capable of fighting against the dangerous Redrun.
Plot[]
Dr. Aki invited Ikki and his friends to a Medabot laboratory to analyze Metabee's battles against the Kilobots, specially Redrun. As a reward for his cooperation, Dr. Aki prepared a sweet lunch for the kids and will allow them to check the two newest Medabot models before they are revealed to the public. Zuru arrived in the lab with Ikki, but the Screws got lost on the way and found Ginkai in a subway, who makes a deal with them in exchange of showing the way.
While Ikki and Zuru are eating, the scientists analyze Metabee's memories. Metabee complains that there is no reward for him, but Ikki says he will give oil for him later. After checking Metabee's Robattle against Redrun, Dr. Aki reveals the new Medabots, Arcbeetle Dash and Tyrelbeetle, who will be able to counter the Kilobots, and he talks a little about their creator.
Dr. Aki suggests Ikki and Zuru to test the new Medabots, with the Medal from Zuru's Gorem-2 being placed on Tyrelbeetle, and Metabee's Medal on Arcbeetle Dash. At first Metabee is shocked, but then he wonders what true power may feel like and gives his go ahead with the project.
After Zuru finished his test, the Screws arrive with Ginkai. Since Ginkai is with them, he secretly also gets access, and he sends footage of Metabee's test to Kam. As Ginkai sees Metabee's body abandoned during the test, he decides to kidnap it, telling the Screws to take it while he covers their escape, and Eddie gives them a ride.
Metabee does well during the test, but the entire time he complains about Arcbeetle Dash's body weight. He is uncomfortable due to Arcbeetle Dash being a lot heavier than his own body. As they go to put Metabee's Medal back in his body, they run into Ginkai, who challenges him. Metabee is ticked, but Dr. Aki sees it as an opportunity to test Arcbeetle Dash in the field. Ginkai is defeated and kicked out of the lab, but then Ikki realizes that Metabee's body is missing.
Ikki and Metabee are sad with what happened, but Dr. Aki allowed them to keep Arcbeetle Dash until they can find Metabee's body. On their way back home, they are challenged by Kam and Ginkai in a subway station in exchange for Metabee's body. Metabee has trouble with his current body, but he manages to win. Not satisfied, Kam does not keep his word and decides to get rid of Metabee's body by throwing it on an incoming train, but Peppercat saves Metabee's body, with Samantha saying she is done doing business with Kam, and Kam leaves.
The Mystery Medafighter and Roks watched everything from the shadows, and they leave after seeing that they would not be needed. Metabee is happy to have his body back, and Arcbeetle Dash will be returned to Dr. Aki. While Ikki and Metabee are thankful for Samantha's help, they find her behavior odd and she accidentally reveals what the Screws did.
Trivia[]
- Except when presented by Dr. Aki, Arcbeetle Dash is without its shoulder boosters during the episode.
Background[]
English dub changes[]

Medarot Laboratory.

Yellow Turtle inside the saloon.

Metabee's original parts.

Medabot Laboratory's security.

Exor's Medawatch screen.
- The R in Medarot was replaced by a B in the texts visible in the Medabot Laboratory.
- In the original, Metabee complains that there is nothing good for him, despite him being the one whose assistance is needed, and Ikki says he will later prepare an oil bath for him. In the dub, Metabee laments that there are no lube oil smoothies, and Ikki says that he will later look for steel wool burgers for him.
- In the original, the Screws are late because Samantha took too long to prepare herself, with Spyke and Sloan waiting her in the Ginjou station, the same station Ikki Robattles against Kam and Ginkai. In the dub, the Screws are late because they got lost due to Spyke mistakenly using the instructions for a VCR as a map to guide them, with Ginkai later offering to show the way to the lab in exchange of letting him in.
- When the Screws see Ginkai in the subway, in the dub, Samantha warns Spyke and Sloan to hide their wallets, and Sloan says he is sick of Ginkai always giving them trouble. Ginkai tells Sloan to be quiet, otherwise he will show him what real trouble is. Spyke says he does not scare them, and Ginkai tells them to shut up. In the original, Samantha is simply surprised to find Ginkai there, and Sloan tells to Ginkai that lying on a subway bench is something only a little kid would do. Ginkai, a bit embarassed by Sloan's comment, asks what they were saying about the Medabot Laboratory. Spyke says that is none of his business, and Ginkai tells him to shut up.
- The texts Death Medarot (Kilobot) and Blosso Mail (Redrun) were removed from Redrun's picture.
- Dr. Aki's speech about his friendly ideals for Medabots compared with the brutal Kilobots was shortened in the dub.
- Ikki convincing Zuru to try one of the new Medabots was cut, with Ikki saying that he should try it, as who knows if they will ever have the chance to try a Medabot like that again.
- The flashback with Dr. Maizu was shortened a bit, and the silent scene after the flashback was cut.
- An eyecatch was added after Dr. Aki finished talking about the scientist that created Arcbeetle Dash and Tyrelbeetle.
- Metabee accidentally hitting Ikki twice with Arcbeetle Dash's horns was cut.
- In the original, Dr. Aki says that the objective of the training is to ring the bell in the end of the path, but it will be a failure if the Medabot is defeated by the Yellowturtles or accidentally hits a Medamaid. In the dub, Dr. Aki gloats of how detailed the western training area is and says that the training's objective is to neutralize all the Totalizer while leaving all the Medamaids unharmed.
- A scene had its position changed while Zuru is testing Tyrelbeetle.
- The scene with Kam watching the footage sent by Ginkai was reversed, zooming out instead of zooming in.
- Before Metabee starts his test, in the dub he asks if Arcbeetle Dash's body is made of cement, while in the original he complains that he feels like a snowman.
- A quick view of the Yellowturtles inside the saloon was cut, as well as a brief view of the guards that appeared to take Ginkai out.
- The Screws escaping with Metabee's body outside the lab and Metabee's Robattle against Unitrix were shortened a bit.
- During the Robattle between Metabee (with Arcbeetle Dash parts) and Unitrix, Ikki's Medawatch shows Metabee's original parts instead of his new parts or Arcbeetle Dash's parts. While this screen was redesigned in the dub, with the part names being replaced by Main Launcher, Left Arm, Right Arm, and Body Armor, it still has a silhouette of Metabee's body instead of Arcbeetle Dash. In the dub, the gauge in the bottom was replaced by the text "head damage".
- After Unitrix is defeated, in the dub Dr. Aki says that the test proved that they are close to create the ultimate Medabot. In the original, Dr. Aki is impressed with how Ikki managed to use Arcbeetle Dash so well on his first Robattle with him.
- An eyecatch was added after Ikki found that Metabee's body is missing.
- Kam says that the net covering Metabee's body is an electromagnetic protection net in the original, and a neutralizing energy net in the dub.
- Exor's Medawatch screen was redraw, replacing the text "Death Medarot" by "Exor - Kilobot", removing the damage gauge in the bottom, and having other small differences.
- A short scene near the end was cut.
