Octoclam, known in Japanese as Kanehachi Mark 2 (カネハチまーく２), is a CLA-type Medabot first introduced in Medarot 2.
Description[]
Like his predecessor, Tentaclam, Octoclam is modeled after an octopus. To this end, his "face" is placed on the his chest area. Each of Octoclam's arms has an anchor attached to a wire; this can be used as a grappling hook for "Hold" attacks, reducing his enemies' speed. His multi-legged base provides maximum mobility on uneven terrain.
Octoclam's CLA model may reference calamari, a dish of octopus meat. It could also be a corruption of Kraken, a mythological giant squid, whose likeness is on the Medal that this Medabot is best matched with, known as the Squid Medal in English. With no references to clams, Octoclam's English name is based solely upon his model, just like his predecessor.

Medabots (GBA)[]
The Old Woman found in random encounters on Mt. Odoro uses Octoclam and Sharkkan. Octoclam's parts can also be purchased in Strawberry Heart, a shop from Medabot Island.
Medabots AX[]
Octoclam is a Metabee Version exclusive Medabot. Hiro has Octoclam as his partner Medabot, but his Swick has been replaced by Belzelga's Hellchaos. Charlie's Medabots have Octoclam's head, and each has one of Octoclam's arms. Sloan's partner Medabot has Octoclam's right arm, and his parts (mainly the head and arms) are also used by members of the Select Corps and Rubberobo Gang.

In the anime[]
"Tentaclam" in the anime
Two Octoclams appeared in the anime.
The first Octoclam, misnamed as Tentaclam (the name of the previous CLA model) in the English dub, appeared in the episode The Old Man and the Sea Monster. He is the Medabot from the Old Master of the Sea and assists in his fishing by catching fish with a net. The old man gave an old spare Swick leg parts from his Medabot to Ikki and Metabee, which they used to defeat Ryan's Sharkkan. His model type is CLA-3121 in the English dub.
The second Octoclam, first seen in Love At First Bite, is from Natalie, the takoyaki-maker from Osaka. Her Octoclam had his arm parts replaced for cooking takoyaki. His right arm is Redmatador's Saber and is used as a skewer, while his left arm is Crow Tengu's Tornado (it's this part that lists his special ability as wind in the Medabot Vital Stats) and helps control the heat. After beating him in a Robattle, Ikki and Metabee win his leg parts to keep. In the Japanese version he is referenced as a "Takoyaki Version" (タコヤキバージョン) due to his arms. In the English dub his model type is CLA-3121-2 and Swick was referred as Swimming Legs in the Robattle Stats.
