In the manga[]

Rintaro is the main character from Medaroter Rintarou!, with his Medarot being Kantaroth. He once met Hikaru Agata and he learned the importance of Medarots with him. He idolized Hikaru since that day, and aims to become a great Medaroter like him.

In the Medarot R sequel he upgrades Kantaroth to Arcbeetle when he loses to Ikki too many times, finally getting tired of it and designing Arcbeetle himself before sending the blueprints off to the Medarot Company to be manufactured.

Medabots Spirit Rintaro

Rintaro's cameo appearance in Medabots Spirit.

In the Medabots anime, Rintaro is a loud-mouthed, fast-paced Medafighter who expresses a serious passion for Robattles. When he first appears, he was looking for Ikki to challenge him for a Robattle, being impressed that Ikki got on third place in the rankings in his first year as a Medafighter. During his search, his Medabot, Kantaroth, was mistaken for Metabee when causing trouble in Robattles. Rintaro became good friends with Karin, and he became a friendly rival of Ikki and Koji.

Rintaro admires Hikaru Agata, considering him a legendary Medafighter, and even got a KBT type Medabot like his idol. When Rintaro sparred with Patra, he did not understand why she disliked Hikaru, and when Joe said that Hikaru Agata was the responsible for the Ten Days of Darkness, Rintaro angrily called him a liar, not believing what he said.

In Medabots Spirit, Rintaro and Kantaroth have brief cameo appearances as characters from a TV show with a design similar to the Medaroter Rintarou! manga. They can be seen in Once a Medafighter (1) and The Agony of the Cheat, the latter being only in the Japanese version.

Trivia[]

  • In Japanese, Rintaro usually uses the particles "ze" and "daze", which is mainly used by characters with a boyish or manly personality, Rintaro being the former. His Medabot, Kantaroth, shares this trait. Rintaro also often pronounces Robattle and Medafighter in different ways from the usual, the most common being ロボトろ instead of ロボトル. In the English anime, his way of speaking was adapted by having him using slangs like "dude" and "cool".
