Content[]

Summary[]

Thanks to her secret training, Samantha easily wins against two Kilobots! On the other hand, the defeated Minitora and Kintora received one last chance from Kam and handed Samantha a letter of challenge for a Robattle match on Mount Nevermore.

Plot[]

Medabots Spirit episode 31 screen 1

The episode begins with Minitora and Kintora challenging Samantha to a two on one Robattle. It's a shocker as Peppercat manages to defeat both Exor and Unitrix, so Kam puts Samantha on his radar.

It ends up that Samantha and Peppercat have been getting some training from Ginkai and Arc-Dash so they can become one of the best Medafighters around again. When Samantha gets challenged to a rematch, she accepts, and gets Ikki and Metabee involved at training her as well. Zuru also manages to overhear her accept the match, and he vows to be present should something go wrong.

During the training, it is discovered that Arc-Dash has feelings for Peppercat, and even though it doesn't make Metabee jealous, he decides to go harder during the training due to their love.

The next day Samantha shows up for the matchup with Spyke and Sloan, but it ends up being an ambush. Spyke and Sloan try to help out, but their Medabots are quickly defeated, leaving Peppercat and Samantha in a 7 on 1 matchup.

While Samantha and Peppercat are fighting against the Rogue Medafighters, Sloan and Spyke get additional reinforcements from Ikki and Ginkai. Ikki and Ginkai rush to the battle scene causing, some of the Rogue Medafighters consider to back off, but when the "Mystery Medafighter" shows up as well, all but the original two challengers flee the battle scene.

Medabots Spirit episode 31 screen 2

Peppercat defeats both Exor and Unitrix, but then Blakbeetle shows up and gets involved. Blakbeetle quickly knocks out Peppercat, so Ikki and the Mystery Medafighter have Metabee and Roks combine for a double Medaforce attack. Blakbeetle manages to dodge the attack, so they use their remaining energy to curve the attack and cause it to hit Blakbeetle. While damaged, it doesn't cause a function cease, and Blakbeetle decides to destroy everyone around, starting with Peppercat.

As soon as Blakbeetle defeats Peppercat, Arc-Dash starts to go berserk. He powers up and summons the Medaforce. Everyone is shocked as Arc-Dash releases a Medaforce blast on Blakbeetle, causing her to cease functioning. Kam sends a message to Minitora and Kintora informing that he will continue to provide parts for them if they retrieve Blakbeetle.

Medabots Spirit Arc-Dash Medaforce

Afterwards, Ginkai reveals that he got Arc-Dash's Medal even before he got his first Medabot. When he was a kid, he made a lot of pictures of Medabots, and his dad promised to buy him a Medabot if he could fill his coloring book with Medabot pictures. One day a gust made him lose his pictures, and when he ran to gather them, he almost got run over by a man, and his car ruined one of the pictures. The man helped gather the pictures, and he gave Ginkai Arc-Dash's Medal as an apologize for the picture he damaged.

Ikki realizes that the man had to have been a Medabot scientist, and Zuru realizes that it had to be his father that gave Ginkai the Medal (since none of the other scientists carried Medals able to use the Medaforce). One question remains though, what will Kam do with this new knowledge?

Trivia[]

  • One of the scenes showing Kam's computer, displaying a map with dots indicating the Medabots and Kilobots active in the area, had 9 dots while the 7 Kilobots were chasing Peppercat, having an extra dot.

  • Multiple phrases changed in this episode, most of them being done to add humor or dynamism. Only some of those changes are noted below.
  • The first scene with Minitora and Kintora inside the bowling alley was cut.
  • Kintora mentions Extreme Tech in the dub, while in the original the company was not mentioned on this episode.
  • The Medal shaped coins Kam gives to Minitora and Kintora is said to be a subway token in the dub and a game coin in the original.
  • An eyecatch was added before Peppercat's training started.
  • An introduction was added for Peppercat and Blakbeetle.
  • The dialogue between Ikki and Ginkai before Peppercat's training was cut. Ikki asks Ginkai why Arc-Dash is so enthusiastic about the training, and Ginkai calls Ikki slow. Ikki asks if Ginkai knows the reason, and Ginkai says that it is obvious for him as Arc-Dash is his partner.
    • This may have been cut due to Arc-Dash being less shy about his feelings in the dub, such as openly saying "I will protect you my love" to Peppercat in the last scene from the training.
  • A white flash was added to the part Peppercat kicked Metabee's head, the impact causing Metabee's eyes to bulge in a cartoony way. Except for the first frame, the flash hid the cartoony effect.
  • Mount Doburoku was renamed as Mount Nevermore.
  • The scene where the Rogue Medafighters transport their Kilobots was shortened, cutting the individual lines from each Rogue Medafighter before they transported their Kilobots. Their lines include Minitora telling Samantha that he is running out of options, the Brat Brother is in a hurry to start, and Suzie is confident that they will not lose due to their numeric advantage.
  • The beginning of the part showing Totalizer and Krosserdog fighting against Exor and the Hanumonkey trio was cut.
  • A short view from the map in Kam's monitor was cut. Krosserdog and Totalizer (Blues Dog and Keith Turtle in Japanese) were misnamed as "Bruce Dog" and "Keeth Turtle" on this scene.
  • Part of the scene with Blakbeetle pointing her gun forward was cut, and her lines changed. In the original, she asks Kam which of the Kilobots will take down the poor thing (Peppercat) lost in the forest, and Kam suggests Blakbeetle to make a bet on one of them. In the original, Blakbeetle says that she eagerly awaits Kam's orders, but asks to not make her wait to long, and Kam suggests to bet on which one will win. Due to the ambiguity in the dub, it appears that Kam is asking Blakbeetle to choose between Peppercat or the team of Kilobots instead of which Kilobot will defeat Peppercat.
  • In the original, the eyecatch in the middle of the episode appears after Kam suggested to make a bet. In the dub, the second eyecatch appears after Spyke and Sloan appear asking Ginkai and Ikki to help Samantha.
  • A scene with Minitora and Masa was cut.
  • The short scene with Minitora talking with Samantha when she was surrounded was cut.
  • The scene showing a full view of the area before Samantha started her "fair" Robattle against Minitora and Kintora was shortened, ending before Minitora and Kintora appeared in view and cutting Arc-Dash's lines.
  • Peppercat stepping on Exor's head was replaced by a static image of Ginkai, Ikki, and their Medabots watching the Robattle.
  • An eyecatch was added while Peppercat was being held by Exor, and a scene was repeated.
  • In the original, Minitora laments his loss, Peppercat asks Ikki if he believes her now (about her being able to defeat two Kilobots on her own), and Ikki apologizes for doubting her. In the dub, Minitora asks Samantha "how could you?", and Samantha says that she was able to do it fairly (despite the odds), and Ikki agrees, saying that he can vouch that it was a fair fight.
  • Blakbeetle pointing her gun to Metabee was shortened a bit, ending before she fired.
  • The text Death Medarot was removed from Blakbeetle's details in Kam's Kilowatch.
  • Peppercat talking with Arc-Dash before her function ceased was shortened, and their dialogue changed. In the original, Peppercat asks Arc-Dash if she won, and Arc-Dash says that she did. Peppercat thanks Arc-Dash for the special training before her function ceased. In the dub, Peppercat simply thanks Arc-Dash for everything he did before her function ceased.
  • Like previous episodes, the Medanetboard's ringtone changed.
  • In the flashback, the part were the young Ginkai was almost run over by Dr. Maizu's car was modified, keeping a static scene from the same scene to hide Ginkai cowering in fear due to the approaching car, and Dr. Maizu hastily leaving the car to check if Ginkai was fine.
    • The following scene was shortened, cutting Ginkai answering that he was fine as he did not bump into the car, only being startled.
  • Arc-Dash mentioning that his Medal may be a First Medal was omitted.
  • In the original, Samantha says that Arc-Dash's Medal explains why he and Metabee are so strong. Both disliked being compared with the other, and they start arguing. In the dub, Samantha says that they are "cut from the same hunk of scrap metal", and Metabee asks if Samantha wants to fight, with Arc-Dash warning that he would not allow it, the two arguing.
    • The following scene was cut. Ginkai warns Arc-Dash that he should not use the Medaforce for silly fights, and Ikki agrees that the two Medabots are similar.
