Content[]
Summary[]
The Rubberobo Gang appeared with the Medabot Robo-Emperor, and Rokusho, who had exhausted his power, is captured by them in order to take his Rare Medal. Wanting to know more about Rare Medals, Ikki learns about their history from Dr. Aki.
Plot[]
Continuing from the previous episode, the Rubberobo Gang appeared with a prototype Robo-Emperor and orders him to capture Rokusho, who was exhausted after he used the Medaforce against Metabee and is easily defeated. Due to the increasing fire and the intensity of Robo-Emperor's attacks, the Phantom Renegade escapes from the roof, taking Ikki, Metabee, and Dr. Aki with him, and Mr. Referee also retreats. After the Rubberobo Gang escapes with Rokusho, Ikki asks Dr. Aki to tell him everything he knows about Rare Medals to understand why Rokusho was captured.
In the Medabot Corporation, Dr. Aki explains what he knows to Ikki, Metabee (who was using spare parts due to his body being under repair), Erika and Karin, revealing the history behind the creation of the Medabots: The original Medabot theory was developed by Professor Hushi, Rokusho's missing Medafighter. Soon after Hushi unveiled his Medabot theory, he announced his resignation from the academy and left. Dr. Aki was one of Professor Hushi's assistants, and he and his colleagues took Hushi's Medabot theory and used it to develop and mass-produce Medabots. But as they continued their research, they found that occasionally a Medal would exhibit unbelievable powers, which was called the Medaforce. The Medaforce from those Rare Medals allow a Medabot to increase his power to infinity, but it can only be used for an instant, focusing all the energy from the Medabot into one concentrated burst, leaving the Medabot without energy afterwards, which is why Rokusho lost. The kids think Dr. Aki murdered Professor Hushi, and Dr. Aki is puzzled by this, wondering why Barton would say that. Miss Caviar analyzed Barton and found a chip that was forced into him, which affected his memory, and removing it may erase his memory if not done properly. It is assumed that the Rubberobo Gang placed the chip to make Barton lie to Rokusho so he would attack Dr. Aki. Dr. Aki tries to remove the chip from Barton, and due to how it was done, he suspects that someone he knows might be the one responsible.
Meanwhile, the Phantom Renegade had pursued the Rubberobo Gang and found their hideout. Inside, he finds them trying to remove the Medal from Rokusho's body, which did not eject after his defeat nor after being hit with their hammer, and their leader orders them to dismantle Rokusho's Tinpet to avoid damaging the Medal. The Phantom Renegade manages to rescue Rokusho, but the Rubberobo Gang and Robo-Emperor are right behind them, and they manage to corner them.

After Metabee's body is repaired and his Medal is placed back, he runs out to search for Rokusho, but he has no idea where to find him. Metabee and Ikki find the Chick Seller, who inadvertedly helped them find Rokusho. Metabee tries to stop Robo-Emperor, but he is too powerful. After Barton appears with Erika and Karin and Rokusho learns about the chip the Rubberobo Gang placed on Barton, and that the Rubberobo Gang was responsible for the fire, Rokusho asks Ikki to lend him a part to fight, getting Foxuno's left arm. Despite doing well for some time, Rokusho is still in no condition to fight and is caught again, and Metabee is severely damaged, with his arms and legs being offline and with 95% damage to the head. Seaslug orders Robo-Emperor to annihilate Rokusho to take his Rare Medal. When all appears to be lost, Metabee suddenly emits a bright light. Metabee is ready to use the Medaforce, meaning that he also has a Rare Medal, surprising everybody. Seaslug panics and orders Robo-Emperor to take Metabee down before he uses the Medaforce, and they attack at the same time. Despite his great power, Robo-Emperor is no match for the Medaforce, and is defeated in a single hit. The Rubberobo Gang takes Robo-Emperor's Medal and retreats, and the shape from Metabee's Medal changed from a larva to a grown beetle.
After being repaired and gaining a new mantle, Rokusho leaves with Barton to search for Professor Hushi, believing that there is a chance of him being still alive, and Rokusho thanks his friends for everything they did. Meanwhile, the Rubberobo Gang is analyzing Robo-Emperor's Medal and preparing a new Medabot that will be capable of catching a Rare Medal for them.
Trivia[]
- The parts Metabee used while his body was being repaired are Mistyghost's head (obtained in the episode The Gimme Ghost), Landmotor's right arm (from Ban All Medabots), Multikolor's left arm (Phantom Renegade Unmasked) and Banisher's legs (Return of the Screws).
In the episode[]
Background[]
English dub changes[]

"Note: Metabee"
- The background music was changed in the dub, including the removal of Jingle Bells (the episode originally aired on December 24 in Japan), an instrumental version of the Japanese opening, Chie to Yuuki da! Medarot, and Rokusho's character song, Kouya no Medarot.
- When Ikki says that the situation is bad, in the original Metabee asks to hurry and place his Medal back on his body for a rematch, but Ikki says that it is not a good time and that they should escape, attempting to take Metabee's body with him. In the dub Metabee is concerned about his beautiful body and asks Ikki to retrieve it before running away, with Ikki saying that he will give it a try despite the danger.
- Mr. Referee's escape was reduced a bit.
- Seaslug's laugh after defeating Rokusho was modified, and this scene appears twice, the second time being after the fadeout added for the commercial break.
- The outside view of the Medabot Corporation had its duration shortened, the dub zooms in further than the original, and the Medarot text was changed to Medabot.
- The part with the text "(注)メタビー" ("Note: Metabee") was removed. It indicated that the Medabot with different parts was Metabee. Ikki and Erika commented that he looked strange, and Metabee was annoyed as that's because all of his parts were under repair. His comment about his parts being under repair was added on the previous scene, where in the original he only said "so that's what the Medaforce and Rare Medals are".
- In the original, Dr. Aki asked who told the lie about him being a murder. In the dub, Karin said that the little bird told what he did shortly before this part, so Aki only says "I am sure there is an explanation for all this".
- The scene showing two men near the Rubberobo Gang's hideout was cut. The same scene, with a different illumination, was also cut in Spaceship Superstars.
- The "please wait" scene before Seaslug is turned into a teddy bear (screaming during the scene) was replaced by a white flash. The same message was cut in the previous episode.
- The Rubberobo Gang arguing how they should remove Rokusho's Medal was cut. Their suggestions included using a blowtorch (denied due to the risk of damaging the Medal), applying oil to make it slip (it will only become harder to remove), and heating it up (it's not a jam jar lid). In the dub Squidguts said he would take a crowbar before this scene.
- The distraction used by the Phantom Renegade is "Look! It's the Phantom Renegade!" (himself) in the dub and "A UFO!" in the original.

Ikki and Metabee are confused with what the chick seller is saying.
- A scene with the chick seller and the confused reaction from Ikki and Metabee were cut. In the dub, the chick seller (a chicken seller in this episode as the chicks grew since their last appearance) is more focused on selling a chicken, not giving very useful advice. He asks Ikki and Metabee if what they are looking for is a chicken, saying that chickens are man's best friend as they provide eggs and their feathers can be used as pens. As Ikki and Metabee complain that they don't want any chickens, the seller gets angry and tells them to go find whatever they want in the direction he pointed. In the original, the chick seller says that sometimes in life we find ourselves without direction. When that happens, one should run, so even if it is dark and the path cannot be seen, one hour the right path will be found, but that will never happen if you only stand still. Ikki then complains as he and Metabee were already running and the seller made them stop, and the seller says that sometimes people need to stop to decide which path they should take. If one path looks no good, you can always take another path. Ikki and Metabee find it confusing, and the chick seller then points his finger forward and tells them to go to the path they believe to be the right one. In both cases, a explosion happens where he pointed, surprising him as he showed the right path for Ikki and Metabee.

Shrimplips crying due to being hit on his forehead.
- Shrimplips crying and with a bruise on his forehead after being hit by the Phantom Renegade was cut.
- A fadeout was added before Barton appeared to talk with Rokusho.
- Like previous appearances, the texts in Ikki's Medawatch changed, the name of Metabee's parts being replaced by Main Servo, Right Arm, Left Arm, and Legs, and having different texts in the bottom. In the first appearance, the texts shown are ">Sub Machine-Gun damaged 25pt", ">Ochitsuker destruction", and ">Out of control." in the original, and ">Legs damaged" and ">100% damage" in the dub. The second appearance shows ">Revolver destruction", ">Sub Machine-Gun destruction", and ">Missile damaged 95pt" in the original, and "Arms damaged - 100%" and "Head damaged - 95%" in the dub.
- The scene showing Robo-Emperor's Medal ejecting from his body was shortened.
- The final scenes were swapped, possibly to line up the English narrator's closure with the Japanese narrator's lines. In the original, Rokusho saying goodbye to everyone is shown first, with the narrator talking about Ikki and Metabee, then the Rubberobo Gang analyzing Robo-Emperor's Medal is shown, ending ominously with Mega-Emperor's silhouette.
